how to inspect the thickness of PC/PETG film?

How do we inspect the thickness when producing of PC and PETG films? Here are several ways to inspect:

1.Thickness gauges: Advanced sensors and meters are integrated into the production line to continuously measure the thickness of the film during extrusion. The system uses the technology of beta or laser gauges to scan the thickenss of film and provide real-time data if changing.

2.Automatic feedback control: the data collected by the online measurement system is input into the control algorithm to automatically adjust the process parameters. If the system detects a difference from the desired thickness, it sends a signal to adjust the extrusion speed, temperature, or other relevant factors to return the film to the specified thickness.

3.Calibration and calibration checks: Regular calibration of sensors and meters is essential to ensure their accuracy. Regular checks and recalibrations help maintain the reliability of the measurement data, ensuring it accurated.

4.Automatic alarm systems: These systems typically have user-friendly interfaces that display real-time thickness data. If the thickness deviates beyond the acceptable range, an alarm will notify the operator and prompt intervention.

5.Finally, manual operation to check: Regular quality checks and tests are essential when production. The film is sampled using a precise measuring tool, such as a micrometer or automatic gauge, to measure the thickness. Strict quality control is our goal.

Thickness tolerances are maintained at ±3%, ±5%, ±8%, depending on different product, common polycarbonate film,PC card base film,PETG card base film.
