Flame-retardant PC film is a kind of high-performance film material made from polycarbonate as the main raw material and processed with special flame-retardant modification. It is widely used in electronic appliances, new energy batteries and other fields for insulation and flame retardancy. The flame-retardant grade of the flame-retardant PC film is the most important indicator for judging its performance quality. Generally, it is tested by the UL94 standard.

I. UL94 Flame Retardant Grade Classification

UL94 is currently the most widely applied standard for evaluating the flame retardancy of plastic materials internationally. There are 12 grades: HB, V-0, V-1, V-2, 5VA, 5VB, VTM-0, VTM-1, VTM-2, HBF, HF-1, HF-2.

The plastic flame retardancy levels increase progressively from HB to V-0: HB < V-2 < V-1 < V-0 < 5VB < 5VA.

II. Common Test Methods of UL94

UL94 is used to evaluate the ability of a material to extinguish a flame after being ignited. There are various evaluation methods based on factors such as the burning speed, burning time, the ability to resist dripping, and whether the dripping substances catch fire or not.

We have UL94 certificate. The flame retardant grades of polycarbonate film are V-0, V-2 .
