Polycarbonate film is a film made from polycarbonate resin. Abbreviated as PC film, it can be as thin as 0.01 millimeters. It is an amorphous, odorless, non-toxic, and highly transparent film. Suitable for functional integration of decorative elements, automotive heating and lighting elements or other electronic devices. These Polycarbonate film can be processed using standard processing technologies such as IME or FIM to simplify the process and improve production efficiency.

PC Film Parameters

Thickness: ≤0.25mm

Types: Transparent, matte, black, and colored

Transparent polycarbonate film has a light transmittance of >90% and a haze of <0.2%.

Temperature Resistance:

Low temperature: -40~-60°C

High temperature: 110~130°C

Physical Characteristics:

a. Good flame retardancy: UL94-V2 grade

b. Excellent insulation: Class E insulating material

c. High light transmittance: 90% for colorless sheets

d. High heat resistance: Glass transition temperature of 150°C

Classification of PC Films

PC films can be classified into:

Halogen-free flame retardant PC film

Black flame retardant PC film

Matte PC film

Transparent flame retardant PC film

Transparent PC film

Hard-coated PC film

Scratch-resistant PC film

Printing-grade PC film

Optical-grade PC film

Anti-static PC film

Production and Processing Methods of PC Film

PC film is mainly processed using calendering and casting techniques, with calendering being predominant. During calendering, the film can be polished or embossed, making the surface either mirror-like or textured. Various functional additives can be incorporated into polycarbonate film to achieve properties such as flame retardancy, anti-static, conductivity, fluorescence, and diffusion.

Applications of PC Film

Flame retardant PC film:

Uses: Electronic components, electrical housings, switch panels, junction boxes, charger housings, automotive instruments, etc.

Printing matte PC film:

Uses: Helmets, signs, nameplates, protective covers, etc.

Scratch-resistant PC film:

Uses: Mobile phones, MP3 players, MP4 players, DVDs, etc.
