With the rapid development of the global new energy vehicle industry, the safety, lightweighting and environmental adaptability of power batteries have become the core technical concerns. Polycarbonate (PC) films, due to their excellent heat resistance, insulation properties and impact strength, are becoming the ideal material for battery module packaging and thermal management systems in new energy vehicles.

Compared with traditional PVC or PET materials, PC films can better meet the high requirements of new energy vehicles for battery protection shells in terms of high-temperature resistance, flame retardancy and structural stability. According to industry insiders, since 2024, many battery manufacturers have listed PC films as one of their preferred materials, using them for insulation pads between battery cells and structural layers between battery modules in key positions.

The market demand has increased by more than 30%. With the advancement of new technologies such as solid-state batteries and 800V high-voltage platforms, the reliance on high-performance polycarbonate films is expected to further increase, bringing considerable growth opportunities for upstream material enterprises.
